We've acquired Kevin Fiala from the @mnwild in exchange for D Brock Faber and our 2022 first-round pick.
Fiala is a restricted free agent in 2022-23 and must still agree to a contract extension with the Kings for next season.
The 25-year-old had a breakout year this season, finishing with career highs in goals (33), assists (52) and points (85), playing in all 82 regular-season games. Fiala posted three assists in the Wild's first-round playoff loss to the St. Louis Blues.
In parts of four seasons in Minnesota, Fiala tallied 79 goals and 107 assists over 215 games.
The first-round pick headed to Minnesota is No. 19 overall, giving the Wild two first-round selections in next week's NHL Entry Draft, as they'll also pick at No. 24.
Faber, 19, was a second-round draft pick by the Kings in 2020 and recently finished his sophomore season at the University of Minnesota.
He was named the 2021-2022 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, posting two goals and 12 assists in 32 games for the Wolverines.
Faber also represented the United States in the United States this year in both the USA U-20 Championships and the Winter Olympics in Beijing.
